Digital Learning Tools

July 1st, 2021

Catholic Academy of Waterbury was recently awarded a very generous grant from The Hartford Bishops' Foundation to support and extend our efforts to provide a quality, Catholic Education to every family who desires such for their children. In the context of the pandemic, this meant being able to support and extend our ability to actively engage our students, both in-person and online, and even simultaneously. As such, our staff and students were in need of upgraded and additional devices, respectively. This grant allowed us to purchase high power laptops, better capable for teachers to use as a critical tool in distance learning and in the classroom. Additionally, we were able to secure more Chromebooks for our students, bringing our STREAM academy closer to a 1:1 environment. Our most sincere thanks and prayers to The Hartford Bishops' Foundation and its donors for making this possible and allowing us to meet the needs of all learners during this challenging time. Moving forward, we will be using these tools to meaningfully integrate technology into our nationally-acclaimed curriculum standards.  With a robust technology strategic plan, Catholic Academy always has eyes toward the future and is on the forefront of advances as we keep the mission of our quintessentially Catholic School and STREAM academy alive and well in the hearts and minds of our students every day!
